[glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow]TEXT I've seen shadow people, heard people yelling in the woods, and have seen orbs in motion at the paulding light, we caught on video camera, a man standing in front of the light.

Well, I don't know about shadow people and so forth, but I have actually investigated the paulding light, and yes, I do know what causes it. Anyone can learn the secret if you just think logically and go investigate on your own. I won't spoil it here though, because it IS fun to go see (and fun to figure out) if you don't already know about it's origin. It's one of those great little "must see" sites in the U.P., regardless! -Northy-

Northy, Greetings to the UP Investigators website. my name is Tony and I am one of the UP Investigators. I have two questions for you. What is your relationship with the paranormal or why are you intrested? Secondly, what is your conclusion of the paulding light? You can e-mail me if you dont want to "spoil it" for others. I am intrested to hear from you.

Hi Tony, My relationship with the paranormal? Well, I have never really had any personal experiences with anything unexplainable, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to the idea of such things being real. I enjoy listening to stories of people who have had strange experiences and wondering about things we currently have no explanations for. As for the Paulding Light, I'd rather send you a PM about it, because it really is a fun thing to see and experience without someone on a message board ruining it. I'll tell you what I found out though. (EDIT: PM sent as of Wednesday morning. Let me know if you have a problem getting it.) -Northy-

Northy, I read you email and I was not suprised by your answer. I can safely say on this site of what you said, because, I, and many others have thought the same thing. Yes, it is most likely that the light in the distance is traffic lights. But, like many others, you have been fooled by which light is "the light". Everyone goes there and thinks that this light in the distance is the mysterious light that is unexplained. I guess you would have to be there long enough and beleive the other things happening to understand what the "mysterious" part is. I am sure that alot of thing seen are made up by other people to play jokes on the viewers. but some of these things are not so far fectched from what might be going on. It is very possible that something is out there. I wouldnt rule anything out as a possibility, but, the light we talk about are not the traffic lights off in the distance.

I too for a very long time thought that the light was merely traffic lights appearing over the hill in the distance. I do know for a fact that the actual light is not this. I will be the first to admit that about 85% of what people think is the light is in reality car lights, but there is that other percent that are lucky enough to have witnessed the real thing.
How can I say for sure? Well one night we were doing a routine investigation of the light. It was a very foggy night, and there would have been no way for one to see a headlight on the other side of the creek let alone from over the horizon. We were about to pack up (after not seeing ANYTHING all night) when a very large, very bright light appeared over the area where the creek is. It danced about for a few moments then started to dim for about a second and a half, then suddenly vanished.
It was definitely something to bring me back to atcually thinking that there is something there. Its easy to be skeptical and to think that you have seen the real light. Heck I thought I had before that night. But once you have seen the real deal you'll know it.
~peace out joel
